Bannack is an 1863 gold rush ghost town, now preserved by the State of Montana as a Historic Landmark. Some of the buildings remain in good condition thanks to the efforts of the State. Some furnishings and artifacts also remain, left pretty much where they were when the town was abandoned. I find the ghost towns in the west offer many interesting photo opportunities with Bannack being among the best.

The photographer produced this image with a 5:7 aspect ratio to offer a faithful reproduction of the original scene. The size options available maintain this aspect ratio without cropping during the printing process.
